Andres Arochi


Andres Arochi (Mexico City, 1990) is an audiovisual self-taught and multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Mexico City. He has achieved to preform within many areas of visual media. Mainly focus on cinema and photography. His great interest in adventure and nature has led him to travel around the world.

What was your latest book discovery? What are your favorite books of all time?

Knulp and Demian from Herman Hesse are my all time favorites. Lately I’ve been into Kawabata, Murakami and other Japanese writers.

Most visited blogs, websites? : 

I don´t really use blogs other than Instagram. I usually look for movies either in Mubi or any other streaming service.

What apps do you use the most and why?

Sun Seeker - To measure the path of the sun and plan my photographs or takes.
Artemis - Great tool for any filmmaker
Light Meter - In case I’m shooting film and I forgot my light meter.

What tools do you use in your work?

I’m a huge camera geek I own many film cameras but I mostly use an Arri Alexa and my Fuji X Pro 2.

What magazines / newspapers do you read regularly?

I like too look for birds outside my window.

What are your favorite gadgets?

I always try to travel with a film camera ( usually a Hasselblad Xpan) and my Fuji X Pro 2 that use to shoot digital stills and sometimes shoot visuals. I also like to travel with a Zoom H6 to record birds or water soundscapes.
