Melissa Spratt is a Gold Coast based artist, known for merging textile design and finger-knitting in artworks of various scales.

What was your latest book discovery? What are your favorite books of all time?

I enjoy any crafty books, at the moment I’ve got my eye on Rachel Burke’s Be Dazzling.

Most visited blogs, websites? : 

I don’t view any blogs consistently, but I do love a good Pinterest scroll and Instagram is also such a great place to discover creative inspiration.

What apps do you use the most and why?

Instagram - to present my work and record my creative experiences.
Pinterest - when I’m feeling a bit low on inspiration!
Facebook - so I can keep in touch with friends/family/followers.

Whats currently on your playlist?

I don’t have specific tracks, but I have been into the Arctic Monkeys Album AM and I also like a bit of Vance Joy.

What records would you recommend to hear?

Anything by the Beatles!

Fresh movie finds? What films do you think everybody should watch?

Gifted - on Netflix was a heartfelt watch.

Which artists working today do you admire most?

Anish Kapoor, Tracey Emin, Rachel Burke and many more!

What are some of your tv top tips right now?

Stranger Things (obviously) and also recently got into Mad Men on Netflix too!

Who are you following?

Gosh I sound like a bit of a Rachel Burke Fan girl, but she’s just so sparkly and from Brisbane! But I also enjoy content from: @wandacomrie, @_linesoflove, @rachael_wellisch, @vanessabarragao_work and so many more!

What tools do you use in your work?

My hands! - for Finger Knitting
Yarn of all different types and sizes.

What magazines / newspapers do you read regularly?

Frankie Magazine
Flow Magazine

What are your favorite gadgets?

My Apple Watch and iPhone, noise canceling headphones are a new thing for me and I’m getting into it.
