Steven founded his Brooklyn-based design practice in 2016, working primarily in furniture and product design. In that same year he designed the bar seating for the renown Flora Bar, located within the Met Breuer building. In 2017 he participated in the annual Sight Unseen OFFSITE exhibition and was named a recipient of the American Design Hot List Award. His work has been published in Domino Magazine, Architectural Digest, Wallpaper, and W Magazine to name a few.
What was your latest book discovery? What are your favorite books of all time?
Currently I'm reading Twisted Head by Carl Capotorto, a memoir about growing up in the Bronx in the 60s and 70s. The tone and story telling are fascinating and the humor is wicked. My favorite books of all time are in the science fiction category: Dune by Frank Herbert, Neuromancer by William Gibson, and 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke.
Most visited blogs, websites? :
Wikipedia: I like to consume information. It's nice to read and learn about something irrelevant every day.
What apps do you use the most and why?
Instagram: it's an easy way to stay connected to my pals and see what they're working on or what else they may be up to. It's also a fun way to connect to new collaborators and clientele.
Spotify: I like to have music playing most of the time, even if it's just going softly in the background.

What are some of your tv top tips right now?
Who are you following?
It's difficult to pin them all down but here's a few that always stand out:
@emilyforgot and @camillebbrown for consistent feeds of obscure and esoteric design stuff and inspo.
@somebrut_somewax for brutalist architecture and techno.
@janerichsen for the studio work/hijinks.
@_sightunseen_ and @teklan for holding it down for so long with the radical design feeds.
@all of the food blogs, chefs, and restaurants I follow. Love food and love eating.
What tools do you use in your work?
Aside from the typical woodworking and metal working tools, I do a lot of planning on the computer using Rhino 3D and Keyshot. I enjoy planning everything to make shop drawings and renderings, to help myself and clients visualize the final product as close to IRL as possible.
What magazines / newspapers do you read regularly?
What are your favorite gadgets?
My bicycle, it gets me around the city and outside of it.
